Repairs finished and then restarted!

Hello readers,
If you haven't by now deserted. The damage repair has been completed at long last however on being put back in to the water on Thursday last(13th) the engine wouldn't start. Unfortunately we are not talking a fuse. So boat is back out of the water and due to expected long wait time I'm coming back to UK. This is not the end of trip just enforced expedient departure. I have been in Carta now for about 3 months have done all the local sites have walked up hills due to lack of exercise and eaten enough stuff on toast to last a very long time. Upside is I'll get the British summer and return about when the engine has been put back in the boat. Nothing I can do here during work . A bit of sofa surfing is due and a bit of admin, far easier done at home but apart from visiting a few people returning to the British way is not a very attractive option.

Beach bay restaurant behind the submarine base.
More coastal shots ,that is the best thing about the local area. Little restaurants are beginning to open around the bays, cruise ships are coming in and the weather has been great almost every day. Missing out on some good winds though.

A few photos of the local religious week processions. Lots of drum banging ,marching Romans and large floats being carried by up to 60 people! some pretty strange outfits .No one locally really seems to know why they wear pointy hats but they look quite sinister!

Pointy heads on the march .Some of  the float carriers were wearing masks as seen at IRA funeral corteges . Truly odd!

                                                    Renovated amphitheatre in town centre.
I seem to have lost my mojo with the blog but mainly because it was not set up to inform on my daily diet while ashore during repairs. Normal service will be resumed when work is complete ,if I'm let back into the country and set off to more interesting places. The plan as much as there is one has not changed just been delayed. Life is a set of trials and dealing with them is what its about; my set is just a bit different to the normal ones.
The next challenge is leaving Spain via Alicante airport. One way or the other it will be interesting and worse case I could be writing my next missal (not quite the right word but I am writing drivel in a catholic country) from a small room with bars on the window and I'm not talking  monastery! Lets hope it doesn't come to that.
ADIOS AMIGOS.

On the move at last.

Dolphins in Torrevieja anchorage . Biggest one I’ve seen! More wild life on the way to Tarbaca a herd(?) of tuna . Amazing and very big shad...
